This picture of a dental implant abutment does not show the dental implant itself which is placed within the osteotomy in the bone. This standard straight abutment will be unscrewd in my Palm Harbor, FL dental office and repalced with a healing cover, prior to suturing. This type of dental implant will be completely covered during the 3 month period of osseointegration. After osseointegration, I will expose the dental implant, remove the healing cap and place the abutment (after I shorten it adequately). The gingival tissue will heal before the definitive crown (for tooth #30) is fabricated and cemented. All dentistry done in one Tampa Bay area dentist office. Although this person is not sedated, in the interest of patient care, conscious sedation can be considered.
