This is a picture of a fractured tooth, shortly after being extracted in my Palm Harbor dentist office on June 12, 2012
Nothing lasts forever. I am amazed at how long our teeth can last. This tooth had had root canal therapy, a post and core build up and a crown. This patient had been under my care for may years but the dentistry on this tooth was done before I met “Ida.” There was recurrent swelling for a few years. I suspected a root fracture, but nothing was evident on dental x-rays. After this tooth was extracted yesterday, a three tooth non-removable provisional bridge was placed at the same visit. This option was the treatment of choice for multiple reasons.
