Some of the blogs that I generate in my Palm Harbor dentist office have extreme pictures. These extreme pictures are not suitable for many people but they do show actual dental work done in my Tampa area dental office.
It is a very serious decision to have ALL of ones teeth removed. This was done very frequently in previous generations in the United States and is still a “normal” result of living a long life in other areas of the world. My definition of “Comprehensive Dentistry” is accepting a patient in any stage of dental disease and restoring them to the highest level of health, comfort, function and esthetics possible considering the patient’s specific situation. For some, health, comfort and function come with full mouth extractions and full dentures. Once again, considering 24+ years of practicing dentistry in Palm Harbor, FL, I have personally found that most people can get used to a full upper denture, but most people NEVER get used to a lower full denture. In these cases, dental implants to the rescue.
Since placing my first dental implant in October 1989, dental implants have become a cornerstone of my dental practice.
Only time will tell whether the patient shown in this extreme picture will need/want dental implants
