My daughters high school in Tampa lightens things up sometimes. This week was “Spirit Week”, and Tuesday was Tacky Tourist Day. She and her friends have a great time dressing up, there even is a competition, who is the Tackiest Tourist award. This picture, taken at her Tampa high school shows my daughter and her friend, the winners (second year for Kendall – my daughter). Now a little background. I am a Comprehensive Dentist in the Clearwater area. This means the goal in my Palm Harbor Dentist office is to take any patient in any stage of dental disease and restore them to a level of health, comfort, function and esthetics to the best of my abilities, considering the patients financial situation and general health. I have done this for more than 25 years in the Tampa Bay area, but wait, back to Tacky Tourist Day Awards. Kendall was with me at my home in Oldsmar last weekend. She was looking through the closets and politely asked me if she could borrow a few things. “Of course” was my quick response. Kendall is wearing no less than five pieces of my actual clothing. Things I really wear. She won the competition, with my visor, fanny pack, shirt, camel back water pouch and sandals (maybe my socks too). I am proud, not embarrassed but I may no longer wear some of that stuff together anymore. I love being both a Dentist and a Dad in Palm Harbor Florida.
