Very Exciting News – first tooth comes out. Of course this HAS to happen before first grade starts! Wendy’s older son, Matthew, lost his first tooth last night. I bet most of us can remember loosing our “baby” teeth. I sure do. I was so happy to receive the news of Matthew’s right of passage yesterday – being a dentist makes it even more exciting.
As is most typical, a lower incisor is the first tooth lost, but the first secondary (adult) teeth to come in are the first molars at approximately 6 years of age, it comes in behind the primary second molars and as such it does not replace a primary tooth and is therefore not as big a deal as when a baby tooth comes out.
Wendy and I work together in my Palm Harbor Dental office. We do treat children but our primary focus is restorative dentistry for adults with a special emphasis on dental implants in the Tampa area of Florida.
